SUMMARY:

The history of nursing behind contributes to the understanding of its roots permeating
the trajectory of care, and thus, facilitating the understanding of the characteristics of
the contemporary nature of work. Therefore, this look at history refers to the
sociocultural role of this category, which is mostly formed by workers, maintaining
cultural heritages that structure the profession. In this way, there is a category that
reproduces actions and values that are equally inherent to the feminine and,
consequently, experiences the oppressions imposed on the class by an antiquated and
prejudiced culture, arising from the beginning of its formation. With that, observe
aspects of the work environment that permeate violence, from the use of physical force
and hierarchical power, occurring individually or collectively, thus highlighting moral
harassment. Thus, the objective was to evaluate moral harassment with nursing workers
in contemporary times from the perspective of the gender issue. This is a hypothetical
deductive method study, as a methodological, quantitative and statistical procedure,
applying basic descriptive statistics. Therefore, it will be possible to cross-reference the
answers and verify the hypotheses. Automated data collection in the city of Natal, in the
state of Rio Grande do Norte, through electronic interviews, via Forms, with nursing
workers who are linked to health care. To analyze the data, the responses will be
counted and tabulated in the LibreOffice Software Libre Calc for transmission of graphs
and basic statistics. Next, an analysis will be carried out to verify the associations
between the variables. Subsequently, the results will be divided into four categories of
analysis, a priori. The first will seek to understand contemporary nursing in the
historical-cultural perspective of the profession; the second will describe how moral
harassment occurs with nursing workers in contemporary times; in the third, it will be
explained how nursing workers perceive moral harassment; and in the fourth, it will
develop an association between moral harassment and gender. The project will undergo
approval by the Research Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Rio Grande do
Norte, respecting all ethical premises for studies with human beings. Thus, it is expected
to contribute to the production of knowledge in Nursing and the promotion of the health
of nursing workers, as well as the improvement of health care.
