The work of nurses in pediatric health units: emblems of satisfaction and dissatisfaction.
Nurses, Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, Child, Pediatrics, Pleasure, Job satisfaction, Stress Psychological.
The experiences of pleasure and suffering determine the subject's relationship with his work, and this dynamic can culminate in health or psychic illness of the worker. Pleasure tends to be manifested through feelings such as recognition and affinity with work, that is, positive experiences. On the other hand, failure, frustration and impotence point to suffering, when they oppose the expectations of this subject. In the work of nurses who carry out activities in pediatric services, for example, the development of care itself, especially if the child recovers, leads to gratification and pleasure, however, when there is a shortage of material resources, poor relations with the team and management, and especially in situations of poor prognosis and death, dissatisfaction with work is caused. In view of this, the study has the general objective of describing and analyzing aspects of the work process that trigger satisfaction and dissatisfaction of nurses working in pediatric services in a capital in northeastern Brazil.
