SUMMARY:

The patient with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is at imminent risk of losing life or organ/system function in the human body, evolving with shock states and multisystem impairment. It stands out as one of the main causes of death in Brazil and in the world and requires accurate diagnosis and assistance to improve prognosis and quality of life. From this perspective, nursing care requires standardization to become excellent, and in the context of patients with AMI, the nursing diagnosis Risk of shock needs studies that validate concepts as a useful tool to develop, improve and legitimize and build applicable knowledge. to the daily lives of patients and professionals. Thus, the objective of the present study is to validate the nursing diagnosis Risk of shock in people with acute myocardial infarction admitted to an intensive care unit. It will be a methodological validation study, based of the model by Lopes, Silva and Araújo (2012). Thus, three steps proposed by the authors will be followed, namely: concept analysis, content validation by experts and causal clinical validation. The first step will be based on the Walker and Avant model and operationalized through the integrative literature review method by Whittemore and Knafl (2005). In the second stage of the study, the specialists will evaluate the adequacy of the content identified in the previous stage, specialists will be invited, through an instrument sent via google docs, they will judge the adequacy of the content constructed in the conceptual analysis stage. In the third stage, the elements of the aforementioned diagnosis will be clinically validated, which were elaborated and proposed in the previous phases of the research through a retrospective case-control study. Thus, analyzes of sensitivity, specificity and predictive values of the indicators regarding the diagnosis will be carried out, in addition to tests of descriptive and inferential statistics. The project was be approved to the Ethics Committee of the UFRN, through CAAE nº 58803922.10000.5537 , respecting the ethical aspects of research involving human beings (Resolution No. 466/12) .
