SUMMARY:

This study aims at the construction and analysis of the Controller concept from the perspective of Healthcare-Related Infections. The motivation to develop such a study comes from the lack of evidence in the literature that addresses the concept of Controller from the perspective of Health Care-Related Infections, thus making it difficult to understand the role of professionals in control. It aims to develop and analyze the concept of Controller in the Scenario of Infections Related to Health Care. This is a methodological study, conducted by the Hybrid Concept Development Model proposed by Schwartz-Barcott and Kim (2000). This model comprises three phases, which will be overlapped in its development: theoretical phase, field phase and final analytical phase. The first phase will be operationalized by a scoping review, using the methodological framework of the Joanna Briggs Institute (2015), which will provide theoretical foundations for the following phases by searching for evidence in the literature regarding the concept of interest. In the second phase, data collection will occur through a consensus group, with a sample number of 30 experienced nurses in the area of control of Health Care-Related Infections, aiming to continue the refinement of the concept started in the theoretical phase, comparing the data found with the empirical observation of professionals. The third phase will aim to compare, analyze and integrate the results obtained in the previous phases through a lexicographical analysis of the textual material produced, which will be exported to the software Interface de R pour Analyses Multidimensionnelles de Textes et de Questionnaires (IRAMUTEQ) , which will enable the writing of the final report.
