SUMMARY:

The primary care nurse and referral centers are the professional who assists the person with an ostomy after the initial impact caused and is the reference to provide guidance towards the adaptation to the new condition and the reconstruction of a new identity, however there is still a lack in the knowledge and training of some professionals in the care of this population. The use of educational technologies can be an appropriate strategy to assist in this preparation, as an example of this type of resource, there are serious games, which are virtual games with responsive dynamics that aim to achieve learning with the use of visual resources for motivation. Therefore, the objective of this study is to develop and evaluate a serious game as an educational technology on intestinal ostomies in the context of primary care and referral centers. It is a study carried out in two stages: the first, a methodological study and second, an experimental study. The first stage will consist of the construction of the serious game or “serious game”, following the stages of conception, elaboration (implementation, evaluation and validation of the software), finalization and feasibility; and the second stage will consist of carrying out an intervention such as a randomized clinical trial to assess the knowledge of undergraduate Nursing students using the serious game. Gamification in health education brings professionals and students closer to real cases, with images and clinical cases, without causing harm to the patient. Thus, in this proposal, we have the hypothesis: serious games about intestinal ostomies are an effective educational technology in the acquisition of knowledge by nursing professionals and/or students.
