Construction and validation of a mobile application aimed to help the correct completion of the notification and epidemiological investigation form of arboviroses

The concomitant circulation of dengue, chikungunya and Zika viruses in Brazil has left the country's public health in a state of alert. The simultaneous occurrence of these arboviruses occurs because their transmission occurs by the same vector, Aedes aegypti, which maintains high infestation rates throughout the national territory and especially in warmer regions. Arboviruses have become important threats in temperate and tropical regions, due to deforestation, climate change, precarious sanitary conditions of the population and disorderly occupation of urban areas, which contribute to the emergence and re-emergence of these diseases. In this regard, arboviruses are considered to be of compulsory notification. therefore, every suspected or confirmed case must be notified to the Epidemiological Surveillance Service, so that, through case notifications, strategies can be adopted to reduce viral proliferation. The objective was to develop a mobile application prototype to help correctly fill in the information in the notification forms and epidemiological investigation of dengue, chikungunya and zika arboviruses. It is a methodological research of technological development. The study will consist of developing an application for mobile devices to correctly fill in the notification and epidemiological investigation forms. The study will be carried out in four stages: the first consists of building the instrument with instructions for filling in the notification forms, the second will be the validation of the instrument with guidance on correct filling, the third will consist of developing the application, the fourth will be the validation. To operationalize the validation, the Delphi technique will be used. The analysis of the instrument will take into account the criteria of clarity of language, practical relevance, theoretical relevance and theoretical dimension. Data collection will start after approval by the Research Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte and the ethical precepts will be followed, according to Resolution No. 466, of December 12, 2012, of the National Health Council.
