SUMMARY:

The need for a life connected to the internet and digital communication technologies is strongly perceived in the younger part of the world population. The use of the internet can provide benefits when it is used as a means of communication, education, information, expression and leisure. However, it also becomes an environment of vulnerability in relation to exposure to risks, including that of acquiring HIV and AIDS. Studies show that the early initiation of sexual activity, sexual intercourse with an individual of the same sex, multiple sexual partnerships, sexual intercourse with people they met through the internet, the incorrect or inconsistent use of condoms and the use of alcohol and other drugs pose great risks to teenagers. In this sense, strategies such as the “Combined Prevention” adopted by the Ministry of Health seek to include biomedical, behavioral and structural interventions together, to minimize risks. Thus, analyzing the influence of social media on the risk perception of adolescents to acquire HIV is the objective of this research. This is a scope review study developed in accordance with the recommendations of the Joanna Briggs Institute. A preliminary search was carried out in March 2021 to see if there was a scoping review on the topic in Web of Science, Scopus and Google Scholar. Later, a protocol was built and registered as suggested in (PRISMA-ScR). To construct the research question, the Participant, Concept and Context (PCC) mnemonic was used, in which Participant corresponds to “adolescents”, Concept “perception of risk of acquiring HIV” and the Context “social media”. The pre-selection of studies will take place by first reading the title and abstract, followed by the exclusion of duplicates, and then the documents will be read in full, and only studies that meet the adopted criteria will be included: primary, secondary, dissertations and Theses are available in full, without time limit, in any language and that answer the research question. Editorials and abstracts published in annals of scientific events will be excluded. For data analysis and subsequent elaboration of the article, a synthesis matrix will be used, which includes the information extracted according to the adapted protocol and inserted in a spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel 2010. It is expected that this study will contribute to the construction of a new look at the effectiveness of public health policies aimed at preventing HIV and AIDS in adolescence; that health managers plan their services, create and carry out actions to prevent HIV and AIDS in adolescents on a continuous basis; that this research also helps health professionals know, research, study and create intervention strategies that result in positive impacts on the population's health. And finally, that it is a scientific subsidy for conducting other studies that assess the effect of social media in preventing HIV and AIDS.
