The pandemic caused by COVID-19 fostered the rapid increase in new hospital beds, reorganization of assistance flows and demand for professionals, especially nurses. However, with the increase in the need for hospital care, the fear of contagion of the disease, the physical and emotional exhaustion of the professional, the scarcity of Personal Protective Equipment and the lack of supplies for the provision of care make interruptions and incidents in care conducive. of nursing. Therefore, there is a need for investigations on safe and quality care for patients with COVID-19. It is believed that identifying the nursing care omitted from the care of patients with COVID-19 can provide a situational diagnosis and, based on this, it will be possible to devise strategies that will reorder the execution of practices in the services, in addition to being able to modify them. them to increase the quality of actions and Patient Safety. In the meantime, this study brings as guiding questions: what nursing care is omitted during patient care with COVID-19? What are its causes and associated factors? And, it aims to describe the omitted care from the perspective of the nursing team in a care unit for patients with COVID-19. This will be a cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach to be carried out at Hospital Universitário Onofre Lopes with nurses and nursing technicians who work at the COVID-19 unit. Therefore, the Missed Nursing Care Survey-BRASIL instrument will be used for data collection. The analysis of these will be descriptive, of simple frequency, central tendency and dispersion. To calculate the differences in the prevalence of nursing care omission by professional category, Pearson's chi-square or Fisher's exact tests will be used. Associated factors will be verified through bivariate and multivariate analyses. The research will follow the ethical precepts and will be submitted to the Research Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, according to Resolution No. 466, of December 12, 2012, of the National Health Council.
