Construction and Clinical Validation of the Nursing Diagnosis of Occupational Stress in Health Professionals from a Medium Range Theory
Occupational Stress. Health Personnel. Nursing Process. Nursing Diagnosis. Nursing Theory.
Occupational stress has affected several health professionals and can lead to physical and psychological complications in the health of these workers. Thus, the recognition of related factors and reactions to occupational stress in these professionals will facilitate the development of interventions by nurses, but it is evident that there is no nursing diagnosis for Occupational Stress at NANDA International. Thus, the development of this diagnosis will allow the clinical practice of nurses, especially in the area of workers' health, to occur in a systematic and evidence-based manner. In this sense, the general objective of this study will be to construct and clinically validate the nursing diagnosis Occupational Stress in Health professionals from a Medium Range Theory. For this, it will be a methodological study, which will be carried out in four stages, namely: validation of the concept of elements, theoretical-causal validation, content validation and clinical validation. In the first stage, a concept analysis will be carried out based on a scoping review and the theoretical framework of Walker and Avant will be used to list the attributes, antecedents and consequences of the concept of occupational stress. The second stage, will involve the construction of a Medium Range Theory based on the derivation of the Betty Neuman Systems Model, according to the theoretical framework of Fawcett and Gigliotti. The third stage, on the other hand, will include content validation by judges and, finally, the clinical validation of the elaborated nursing diagnosis will be carried out in a Maternity School, in the city of Natal/Rio Grande do Norte, with a proportional sample of nursing professionals, doctors and other categories in the health field. For data analysis, descriptive and inferential statistics will be used. The project is awaiting an opinion after submission to the Ethics Committee of the Onofre Lopes Universitary Hospital (HUOL) of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. It is expected that the study will contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the Nursing discipline through the elaboration of a nursing diagnosis based on a Medium Range Theory, as well as for the nurse's performance to be guided by a more scientific worker health care and qualified.
