SUMMARY:

Infectious diseases are pathologies caused by infectious agents (bacteria, viruses, fungi, protozoa and helminths) or their toxic products and are relevant to the epidemiological situation of communities even after advances in technological innovations to improve care for cases. Several efforts are being made by health professionals to reduce the rates of these diseases and, nursing, the most frequent category in health services, has stood out for offering preventive and health promotion services in several community spaces, such as schools. The actions it carries out, such as vaccination, health education, recording and monitoring of data and information, screening and referrals, are already documented, however, there are still no protocols to guide the execution of actions with this focus. Therefore, the objective of this study is to analyze the evidence of validity of a school nursing care protocol in the care of infectious diseases. This will be a methodological research and its execution is planned in two phases. The first will be operationalized through an integrative review to search for constructs on the available evidence on this aspect. In the second, the construction and validation of the assistance protocol will be carried out based on the evidence identified in the previous phase. Luiz Pasquali's theoretical framework will support this process. The participation of experts in the topics covered will be essential to judge the items and the instrument as a whole. The Agreement Rates and the Content Validity Index will be considered for the statistical analysis with reference values equal to or greater than 0.78 in each item and 0.80 in the instrument as a whole. The data will be presented in tables and graphs. This research proposal follows the ethical principles for health research governed by Resolution 466/2012 of the National Health Council and will be appreciated by the Research Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte that will give its opinion.
