Breastfeeding; Educational technology; Health education; Validation Studies; Nursing.
Defined as “the basis of life”, breastfeeding offers children, from the beginning of their lives, the best possible nutrition, in addition to providing better physical and mental health throughout life. Despite its proven relevance, most mothers face difficulties that culminate in the early interruption of breastfeeding, especially in the first six months, which must be performed exclusively. Among the alleged reasons for not breastfeeding, breast problems stand out, such as painful nipples and nipple trauma. In this scenario, the performance of the professional Nurse stands out, which is fundamental in the promotion of breastfeeding through the prevention and clinical management of complications, including nipple trauma. The objective of this research is to develop and evaluate a serious game as an educational strategy on nipple trauma care for undergraduate nursing students and nurses. This is a study that will be carried out in three stages with different methodological approaches, which are, respectively: methodological study, applied research and randomized clinical trial. The first will be the validation of the cases that will be studied in the game, the second will be the development of the serious game, in partnership with LAIS / UFRN (Laboratory of Technological Innovation in Health), the third will be the educational intervention using the serious game as a strategy and, finally, the evaluation of knowledge and the game as an educational strategy.
