SUMMARY:

Introduction: The fact of not knowing the exact or approximate time to go to maternity hospital imposes on the pregnant woman, exceptionally the primiparous woman, anguish that is observed in the daily routine of obstetric care services and evidenced by the specialized literature. Faced with this reality, the use of animated video on the signs of labor and obstetric risk can constitute a technological tool that positively influences the knowledge of primiparous pregnant women, in order to allow the development of autonomy and decision making. Objective: To develop, validate and analyze a care-educational technology on the signs of labor and obstetric risk for primiparous pregnant women. Methodology: Study of a methodological type, carried out through three stages, namely: 1) Development of animated video about signs of labor and obstetric risk; 2) Validation of the animated video by expert judges and primiparous pregnant women; 3) Analysis of the animated video through a quasi-experimental study. In the first stage, the development of animated graphic videos follows four phases: 1) storyboard; 2) definition of objects, 3) specification of keyframes and 4) generation of frames between keyframes. The validation of the content and communication of the care-educational technology will be carried out by 21 expert judges in the health area of information and communication technology; while, the semantics and appearance of the material will be validated by the target audience, composed of 18 pregnant women. Finally, the analysis of the influence of care-educational technology on the knowledge of primiparous pregnant women will be carried out through a quasi-experimental study, of the type before and after. In the analysis of data referring to the validation process, the Content Validity Index, the Suitability Assessment of Materials, K coefficient and Semantic Agreement Index will be used. For the analysis of data from the quasi-experiment, descriptive statistics and comparison tests between means will be applied. Expected results: It is expected that the development, validation, and analysis of a care-educational technology aimed at primiparous pregnant women may contribute to the knowledge of women, thus influencing the development of autonomy and decision making.
