Social representations of people with HIV serodifference developed by health professionals

Health professionals are constantly faced with the reality of people living with serodifference for HIV in the context of assistance from specialized services. The symbology built about serodifference through the professionals' knowledge and experiences makes it possible to expose and make evident this phenomenon beyond the health scenario. This study aims to analyze the social representations of people in serodifference for HIV / AIDS prepared by health professionals from the Specialized Care Service in STI / HIV / AIDS, under the structural aspect. This is a descriptive, exploratory study, with a qualitative approach, anchored on the assumptions of the Theory of Social Representations in the structural aspect, to be carried out with the health professionals of three Specialized Assistance Services in Sexually Transmitted Infections HIV / AIDS, located in the cities of Natal and Parnamirim, both located in the state of Rio Grande do Norte. Participants are the professionals who integrate the minimum multidisciplinary team, coordinators and local managers of the assistance services, and as exclusion criteria, those professionals who are absent from the service during vacation and sick leave, and the professionals who fail to respond to three unsuccessful attempts of contact. For data collection, the technique of free word association and substitution and decontextualization (Mute Zone) will be used, to reveal contents not found in the standardized speeches. The treatment and organization of the results will take place through prototypical processing, in which the frequencies and average evocation orders of the words in the interviews are calculated, and whose elements will be the basis for the elaboration of the four-box chart (Central Core Theory), distributed according to analysis between central core and the periphery of the representation based on elements of a normative and functional nature, and similarity analysis. For the analysis itself, the use of the R interface software for Multidimensional Text and Questionnaire Analysis (IRaMuTeQ), version 7 alpha 2. The project will be submitted to the Ethics and Research Committee of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte de according to the ethical precepts established by Resolution No. 466 of December 12 of 2012, of the National Health Council. It is expected that the results of this study will identify the understanding of the professionals of the Specialized Assistance Services about serodifference with people living with HIV, in this health context. And to contribute with the direction of the health practice of other professionals as well as with the design of new health policies that involve this phenomenon.
