SUMMARY:

Historically, the Brazilian rural scenario is surrounded by social inequalities that influence the people's life trajectories. Rural women suffer with these inequalities due to their class and gender condition and there is a need to consider the processes that lead these women to resist daily adversities, as well as to highlight their quality of life. The aim of this study is to analyze the influence and association between resilience and quality of life in rural women. It is a Convergent parallel mixed methods study with a descriptive-exploratory nature. The study sample will consist of 268 rural women living in the municipality of Nazarezinho, Paríba State's Alto Sertão, the locus of the research. Data will be collected using a sociodemographic formulary, the Resilience Scale, validated for Portuguese and developed by Wagnild and Young (1993) and the Medical Outcomes Study 36-Item Short-Form Health Survey (SF-36). In parallel, semi-structured interviews recorded until the theoretical saturation of the participants' ideas will be carried out. The analysis of quantitative data will be performed using descriptive and inferential statistics using SPSS software version 20.0®, depending on adherence of the variables to the normality curve. The data obtained in the interviews will be transcribed and their analysis will be carried out by the technique of the Collective Subject Discourse. After the parallel analysis, the quantitative and qualitative data will be mixed according to the reference of Creswell and Plano Clark (2013) to verify possible convergences or divergences, being subsequently interpreted based on the relevant literature. It is emphasized that all the criteria set out in Resolution 466/2012 of the National Health Council (Brazil) will be obeyed. It is hoped that this study will contribute to subsidize future interventions and public policies that make it possible to increase the quality of life, reduce the existing inequalities in daily life rural women and raise their resilience processes, contributing to the their health promotion.
