SUMMARY:

This study aims to psychometrically elaborate and validate an instrument for workload identification of nurses working in Psychosocial Care Center II - CAPS II. This is a theoretical study, methodological development with a quantitative approach that will use the Psychometric Theory of Data (PTD). To construct the instrument, this study will use the Classical Test Theory (CTT) and the Item Response Theory (IRT). There will be a non-probabilistic sample obtained by intentionality and convenience. The conceptual theoretical basis is supported by the following authors: Christophe Dejours, Edith Seligmann Silva, Laurell and Noriega, and Joyce Travelbee. The construction of the instrument will have three stages: Stege 1: Creation of the Theoretical Model and Operationalization of the measure, Stage 2: Content Validity and Verbal Understanding of the Instrument; and Stage 3: Construct Validity and Instrument Reliability. To construct the items and dimensions of the instrument, an integrative literature review will be performed to obtain aspects related to the Nursing Workload within the scope of CAPS II. In the content validity stage, the judges will be identified in the Lattes Platform on the portal of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development - CNPq based on the criteria proposed by Fehring with adaptations. Thus, ten judges will be selected, who will evaluate the item/dimension relationship through agreement rate by the Kappa coefficient. In the Face Validation, 30 students of the Nursing Course of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte-UFRN Campus Natal-RN will participate, who will evaluate the understanding of the items through the Content Validity Coefficient (CVI). The construct validity of the instrument will be performed with 300 nurses who will be identified in the Psychosocial Care Centers II of the states of Paraíba, Rio Grande do Norte, Pernambuco, Alagoas, Ceará, Sergipe, Bahia, Maranhão, and Piauí. At this stage, the analytical procedures will be based on the calculation of Factorial Validity, Convergent Validity, and Discriminant Validity; will be analyzed also, 3-parameter logistic model, the unidimensionality and local independence of the items. The instrument reliability will be evaluated from Internal Consistency and Equivalence. Data will be entered and consolidated in an Excel spreadsheet and analyzed using the Software R statistical package. The Research Ethics Committee approved this study by CAAE: 21332519.2.0000.5537 and followed National Council Resolution Nº 466/12. We believe that the development of this instrument has relevance in enabling the promotion of quality of life at work and contributes to the continuous improvement of nursing care provided in these centers.
