RESUMO:

The present study has as its objective the construction of the Nursing Diagnosis (ND) Ineffective peripheral venous return (IVR). The motivation to develop it is based on previous readings and previous experiences with subjects related to cardiovascular care, the verification in the clinical practice of patients with vascular problems and the difficulty in identifying a Nursing Diagnosis directed to this human response presented by this group of patients. The objective was to construct and analyze the concept of Ineffective peripheral venous return Nursing Diagnosis directed to the NANDA International taxonomy. This is a methodological study, operationalized by the model of Lopes, Silva and Araújo (2012). It is recommended to perform three steps (Concept Analysis, Content Analysis, and Accuracy of clinical indicators) and to achieve the objectives proposed by this study we performed the Concept Analysis step. For Concept Analysis, we used the Walker and Avant model and an integrative review according to Whittemore; Knalf (2005). The literature search occurred between February and June 2019 and it was performed by two researchers at same time and places, on different computers, without communication until the exhaustion of each intersection, according to the protocol built for this review.  It occurred in the following data sources Science Direct, Scopus, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (Cinahl), Pubmed (Public Medline), Cochrane, Web of Science and the Virtual Health Library (VHL). The MeSH indexed descriptors were used: Venous insufficiency, Lower Extremity, Leg, the Peripheral keyword and found 24,559 titles. By reading the titles and abstracts, a total of 301 publications were selected and, afterwards, the researchers performed a complete and thorough reading of the chosen studies, with emphasis on the content to determine their inclusion or exclusion, totaling the final sample of 136 studies. After reviewing and organizing the data will be performed and presented the stages of concept analysis.
