Validation of an instrument for the nursing consultation of women with breast cancer

Breast cancer is a public health problem due to the high rates of morbidity and mortality and the physical and psychological sequelae. In this context, the nursing consultation subsidized by specific instruments to women with breast cancer strengthens as an effective strategy for comprehensive care, a fact that justifies this study. The purpose of this study was to construct and validate an instrument for nursing consultation for women with breast cancer in light of the Roy Adaptation Model. It is a methodological study developed in four stages: 1) Review of the national and international literature to search for empirical indicators; 2) Elaboration for the construction of the instrument for the nursing consultation for women with breast cancer in the light of the Roy Adaptation Model; 3) Validation of content and appearance by expertises, selected by intentionality in the Lattes Platform. Nurses will be included, with a minimum degree of specialist in oncology nursing, or with professional experience in oncology / breast oncology, of at least one year, and / or academic experience with at least one year of work in oncology nursing. Subjects who do not comply with the Delphi Technique methodological process for content and form validation will be excluded. The agreement on the permanence of the items will be checked by the Content Validity Index; 4) Adaptation of the instrument to a software available in three languages and free of charge. As a preliminary result, an integrative review of the literature was carried out in six stages, according to the protocol for the development of this type of study, in the Web of Science, Lilacs, Pubmed, Cuiden and Cinahal databases, with the descriptors breast neoplasms, adaptation disorders , social adjustment and psychological adaptation, previously selected in the Descriptors in Health Sciences and Medical Subject Headings. We selected 121 materials to compose the sample of this study - updated scientific articles, manuals, theses and dissertations - and analyzed to identify the empirical indicators for the construction of the instrument. The draft version of the instrument contains thirty-eight items available in four adaptive modes of the Roy Adaptation Model. This study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee by the CAAE: 13927619.2.0000.5537 and followed Resolution No. 466/12 of the National Health Council. This study is expected to contribute to comprehensive health care for women with breast cancer through the use of health technologies for nursing care.
