RESUMO:

Contact between mother and baby after normal birth is sometimes considered fragmented; especially when there are factors involved in the implementation of good obstetrical practices, which form gaps between the recommended by the World Health Organization, the Ministry of Health and the one executed in the social reality. In this scenario, this study aims to analyze factors that interfere in contact between mother and baby within the first hour after normal delivery. This is a cross-sectional observational study, with a quantitative approach. The research will be carried out at the Leide Morais Maternity Hospital and at the Ana Bezerra University Hospital, both references in a standard risk childbirth in the state of Rio Grande do Norte. Parturients admitted to the preterm room, delivery and puerperium, with a gestational age> 37 weeks, characterized as a pregnant woman at normal risk, and who are in the imminence of normal delivery will be observed. The sample calculation determines a number of 195 parturients. Data collection will occur during the period from April to June 2019, using a structured instrument based on scientific literature and ministerial recommendations, totaling 35 questions. The data will be inserted into a database and analyzed quantitatively using descriptive and inferential statistics using the SPSS software (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) version 20.0. The level of significance adopted will be 5% with a 95% confidence interval. The results will be discussed based on good obstetric practices recommended by the Ministry of Health and relevant literature. The project was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte under the number  3.187.286 and CAAE 03986018.4.0000.5537. The results of this study are expected to identify the factors involved in good obstetrical practices, especially attitudes not recommended during childbirth, which compromise humanized childbirth, women's rights and situations that make contact difficult between mother and baby in the first hour after delivery. This identification is intended to provide subsidies for the valuation of good obstetric practices.
