RESUMO:

Tuberculosis remains a resilient public health problem throughout human history. For the effective control of the disease and improvement of the results in its coping, it is necessary that the Primary Health Care use strategies with the objective of reducing the risk of transmissibility of the disease. Among these strategies, the health establishments, as well as the professionals involved in these environments, are expected to carry out control measures against the disease. In this perspective, this study aims to analyze the measures of infection control of M. tuberculosis in primary health care. This is a descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The methodological theoretical framework adopted will be the Manual of Recommendations for the Control of Tuberculosis in Brazil that divides tuberculosis control measures in: Administrative, environmental and individual or professional control measures. The study population had 603 professionals and 56 health facilities, distributed in the districts of the city. The sampling process was used by proportional stratification on the populations in order to obtain representativeness between services and professionals. The final sample was calculated using the Barbetta formula and considered 5% error and 95% confidence interval. With this, the sample calculation defined 235 professionals in 22 Health Units. The questionnaire will be used by researchers and technicians who work in the area of tuberculosis, which will have as reference the guide of Control of Tuberculosis in Brazil that provide elements for the construction of indicators. It is expected that professionals working in primary health care facilities will use and implement control measures to address the disease.
