RESUMO:

Accurate clinical indicators are important for nursing care and teaching. The identification of these components occurs through diagnostic accuracy studies. Thus, the present study aims to analyze the accuracy measures of the clinical indicators of nursing diagnosis Fatigue in patients with heart failure. This is a cross-sectional, diagnostic accuracy study. The sample is composed of 128 patients hospitalized in a university hospital located in the northeast of Brazil, selected for convenience, consecutively. The instrument of data collection is a structured interview and physical examination script. In addition, to support the data collection, a protocol was used with the conceptual and operational definitions of the components of the diagnosis studied. The research was approved by the ethics committee in research of the unit responsible, under number 2.517.527 and Certificate of Presentation for Ethical Appreciation: 80923217.7.0000.5537. Preliminary results show that the majority of the clientele investigated were male (74.4%), brown (62.8%), companion (65.1%) from the interior of the state (65.1%), practicing a religion (89.7%) and retired / benefited (81.4%). The mean age was 58 years. The most prevalent clinical indicators were: Impaired ability to maintain habitual level of physical activity (97.7%), Increased physical symptoms (95.3%), Impaired ability to maintain habitual routines (93.0%), Increased need for rest (76.7%), Insufficient energy (67.4%), Libido change (62.8%), Nonrestorative sleep pattern (60.5%), Introspection (60.5%), Tiredness (55.8%), Feeling guilty (51.2%). Thus, it is concluded, based on the initial results, that the components of the Fatigue diagnosis are present in the clientele hospitalized with heart failure. Also, it is expected that, based on the identification of accurate clinical indicators, the diagnostic inference by the nurse will be facilitated in clinical practice.
