Chronic Kidney Disease has increased in children. In childhood, renal diseases such as primary or secondary glomeruli and congenital abnormalities are the most frequent. This disease leads to significant morbidity and mortality in childhood. The child with kidney disease may suffer from changes in growth and development. From this perspective, the importance of the intervention of the nursing professional in search of solutions the numerous limitations caused by the disease. The nurse can use as a useful tool to intervene against the needs of these individuals the nursing classification systems as a means to direct care and to standardize the language among the team. This is a cross-sectional study aimed at cross-mapping the titles of nursing diagnoses of children with renal diseases formulated according to the International Classification for Nursing Practice (CIPE®) with the NANDA- I, and to classify the mapped titles according to Wanda de Aguiar Horta's theory of Basic Human Needs. The sample will be composed of 68 children with renal diseases being followed at the Child and Adolescent Health Care Unit of the Onofre Lopes University Hospital in Natal/Rio Grande do Norte and 25 experts from the CIPE Center, located in João Pessoa/Paraíba. The first stage concerns the identification of nursing diagnoses through NANDA-I, and the nursing diagnoses of CIPE® will be elaborated. Thus, two lists will be prepared, where the terms will be categorized into constants and not constants in CIPE® and NANDA-I. Then the data will be submitted to the analysis process according to the criteria from Leal (2006) and the titles of diagnoses listed as not constant, will be classified as: similar, more comprehensive, more restricted, there is no agreement. Subsequently, the resulting titles will be classified according to the theory of basic human needs. The data coming from the mapping will be submitted to content validation. For this, the concordance index equal to or greater than 0.80 will be considered among the experts. The project was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the University Hospital Onofre Lopes through Opinion nº. 1.007.954 and presentation certificate for ethical assessment nº 42666815.0.0000.5292.
