RESUMO:

In a view to stimulating broader professional training in patient safety, the World Health Organization has launched the Multiprofessional Patient Safety Curriculum Guide as a way to promote the introduction of the theme in the activities carried out by teachers in educational institutions and encourage their insertion in technical, undergraduate and postgraduate education in the health area, in order to enhance the training of future health professionals and prepare them to develop effective and effective actions, and thus to promote greater safety to those involved in health care. Therefore, it is relevant to understand how the understanding of Patient Safety of teachers is understood, the possibility of knowing the preparation of this professional in the SP approach, as well as verifying if the theme is present in the training of the different courses in the health area of the institution under study. Therefore, the guiding question of this study is: what are the perceptions and experiences of health professors from a federal university about teaching patient safety? And, it aims to identify the perceptions and experiences of teachers of the Health Sciences Center of a federal university on the teaching of patient safety. This is a descriptive study with a mixed approach; the research scenario is the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, and the population of the study will be composed of the professors of the departments of the Health Sciences Center, the sample will be constituted by the population universe. For data collection, an electronic form composed of two parts will be used, the first one related to the characterization data of the participants and the second one with open questions about the theme, this instrument was built in Google Forms. For the analysis of the data, those belonging to the initial part of the collection instrument will be analyzed through simple descriptive statistics, with absolute and relative frequencies; already the textual product coming from the second part will be subjected to the lexicographic textual analysis, with the aid of the Interface Software of R for Analyzes Multidimensionnelles de Textes et de Questionneires. The study is in accordance with the ethical precepts established by Resolution No. 466 of December 12, 2012, of the National Health Council and had its approval authenticated by the Consubstantiated Opinion of the Research Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, No. 2,454,034, Certificate of Presentation for Ethical Appreciation: 80929617.1.0000.5537, of December 21, 2017.
