INCIDENCE OF HYPOTHERMIA IN CARDIOPATHIC PATIENTS
Hypothermia; Body Temperature Regulation; Cardiac diseases
Unintentional hypothermia is the focus of this research and was observed in patients with heart disease in the period of hospitalization without having undergone a surgical procedure. Thus, the development of the present study has the main objective to evaluate hypothermia in patients with heart disease, its incidence and associated factors. To do so, it will be achieved through the development of a retrospective cohort with the computerized charts of patients hospitalized at the Onofre Lopes University Hospital (HUOL) hospitalization unit for adults from August 2016 to July 2018. Data collection will be carried out with the approval of the ethics committee and will consist of obtaining data through an instrument containing sociodemographic, clinical and hypothermia indicators, found in previously developed Concept Analysis. Will be included medical records of patients admitted to the institution's cardiology unit during the proposed period; with age greater than or equal to 18 years; and did not present the human hypothermia response on admission. Incomplete medical records will be excluded; patients without a conclusive medical diagnosis of heart problems; and medical records of patients who developed hypothermia after surgical procedure. Before starting the collection, a pilot study with 30 medical records will be developed to identify possible weaknesses and / or limitations with the use of the instrument. If this occurs, they will be reviewed and adjusted to enhance effectiveness in the collection stage.
