VALIDATION OF THE NURSING OUTCOME DRY EYE SEVERITY IN ADULT PATIENTS ADMITTED IN INTENSIVE CARE UNIT

This study aims to validate an instrument aimed at nursing outcome Severity of dry eye of Nursing Outcomes Classification in adult patients hospitalized in an intensive care unit. A methodological study that will be developed in three stages: validation of content by specialists, semantic validation and clinical validation. For content validation, the specialists will be taken through the Lattes Curriculum and will evaluate the instrument according to the criteria of psychometry. Afterwards, a consensus group will be held with members of the research group Nucleus of Studies and Research in Clinical Nursing for the validation of the instrument after contribution of the specialists. The semantic validation aims to verify if the instrument and the items that compose it are intelligible to the population for which it is intended. Thus, it will be performed with nurses from the clinical practice of the University Hospital Onofre Lopes to verify the understanding of the items of the instrument. Finally, for the clinical validation will use a cross-sectional study, developed at the adult intensive care unit of the University Hospital Onofre Lopes with patients hospitalized in this hospital unit. Participants will be selected for convenience and consecutively. The sample will consist of 140 patients who meet the eligibility criteria. Data collection will occur through two pairs of nurse assessors, one with an instrument containing the Nursing Outcomes Classification nursing result, as well as the other with the result instrument with the respective definitions constructed. The data will be organized in Microsoft Office Excel 2012 and exported to SPSS Statistic version 22.0 for Windows. For descriptive analysis will be calculated the measures of central tendency and its variabilities. To test the difference between evaluators, the Friedman test will be applied. The intraclass correlation coefficient will be calculated to compare the correlation of the evaluations performed by the pairs of evaluators. This study was approved to the Research Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte by CAAE 71452817.5.0000.5537 and opinion nº2.244.761 followed Resolution No. 466/12 of the National Health Council.
