RESUMO:

This study aims to analyze the efficacy of a virtual object on obstetric nursing, based on problem - based learning, as an educational strategy for the diagnostic reasoning of undergraduate students. It will be a methodological research, to be carried out in four stages, namely: elaboration of the problems to be used in the virtual object of learning; Analyzing the content of problems by specialists; Development of the virtual learning object and application of the virtual object in the experimental group. In the first stage, the elaboration of the problems by the researcher will be based on the programmatic contents of the discipline on obstetric nursing. In the next step, the content of the problems will be analyzed by 22 nurses specialized in diagnostic reasoning and / or obstetrics. The third stage will involve the software development and will count on the planning stages of the financial and technological resources necessary for the execution and programming. After the creation, the usability of the software will be tested in the laboratory of the Integrating Nucleus of Research and Innovation in Software Engineering of the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, in order to identify possible problems by the participants in the use of computational technology. Next, the fourth stage of the study will be held, which will consist of the virtual object application, which will be attended by students from the seventh period of the undergraduate nursing course at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte. Participants will be randomly divided into experimental and control groups. Students will participate in the following phases: pre-test of the experimental and control groups; Application of the virtual learning object, following the steps of problem-based learning in the experimental group; Evaluation of the educational technology used by the experimental group; And post-test application in the two groups involved. The data will be stored in Excel spreadsheets and analyzed through descriptive and inferential statistics. After approval in the qualification examination, the project will be submitted to the Research Ethics Committee of the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, following the ethical and legal precepts of human research.
