RESUMO:

Introduction: Violence against the elderly is a multifaceted and constantly muted phenomenon. It is understood that the elderly in vulnerability and in fragility are more predisposed to become victims of violence, however, there are still few researches that seek to evidence the existence of this correlation. Objectives: This study aims to assess the correlation between the risk of violence and the fragility in the elderly attended at prompt care unit. Method: This is a descriptive, exploratory and quantitative approach. It will be held in the city of Campina Grande, in a Prompt Care Unit of this municipality. The population will be composed of all the elderly attended in the unit, in a determined period, and the sample according to the calculation of finite population with a sampling error of 0.08. Will be included in the sample, people over 60 years old, who are in attendance and can respond to the proposed instruments, such as an instrument of characterization of the sample,the Scale of Edmonton,and the Scale of screening of violence against elderly, as well as signing the Term of Consent Free And Clarified in compliance with Resolution 466/12 of the National Health Council. Data will be analyzed through the StatisticalPackage for Social Sciences (SPSS), version 20.0 through non-parametric tests. It is hoped that the results may contribute to elucidate the influence of fragility on the occurrence of violence in the elderly, in addition to highlighting the need for greater involvement of health care services, with early notification of both the fragility and the risk of violence in elderly people.
