RESUMO:

The occurrence of vascular trauma in patients submitted to chemotherapy is frequent, due to reduced visibility, palpation and decreased caliber in the venous. In addition, hematoma, hyperemia and pain at the venipuncture site are observed. In this context, there is no nursing diagnosis in NANDA-I related to vascular trauma. The objective of this study was to construct and validate the nursing diagnosis of vascular trauma in patients submitted to chemotherapy. It will be a methodological study developed in three stages, namely: concept analysis, content analysis and analysis of the accuracy of clinical indicators. The first stage will be operationalized through an integrative literature review. In the second stage, experts will judge, through a focus group, the adequacy of the content constructed in the previous stage. In the third phase, the elements of the diagnosis under study will be evaluated clinically through the evaluation of sensitivity, specificity and predictive values of clinical indicators, as well as descriptive and inferential statistics tests. The project was forwarded to the Ethics Committee of the North Riograndense Against Cancer League, respecting the ethical aspects of research involving human beings. The same was approved, under opinion number 57967816.3.0000.5293.
