RESUMO:

Acute Myocardial Infarction is one of the major health problems worldwide. When this event presents an elevation of the ST segment (STEMI) in its electrocardiographic tracing, there are two ways of promoting coronary reperfusion, through Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PPCI) or Fibrinolytic Therapy (FT). The therapeutic option adopted for STEMI should be rapidly implemented in order to reduce myocardial ischemia. TF is indicated for patients who are far from ICPP centers that do not have imminent bleeding risks, and its administration when performed within the first hours after the event is associated with a significant reduction in mortality rates. In the care of the patient with STEMI, the prehospital phase is the most critical moment, because in the initial minutes it should be defined which therapy will be most effective. In the state of Rio Grande do Norte, many patients do not have access to PPCI due to the existence of few hemodynamic services in the public network, when the FT becomes the opportunity to save life and / or minimize the complications of the cases. In this context, this study aims to describe the effectiveness of the use of fibrinolytic medication in prehospital care for the treatment of STEMI. The study will be carried out through a quantitative, descriptive and analytical approach, through a sectional design. The data will be collected from secondary sources, using the information contained in the records of the Mobile Emergency Care Service (MECS), medical records of the patients attending the Emergency Care Units and hospitals in the patients assisted by MECS, located in Natal, Large northern river. Descriptive statistics will be used for data analysis. The Research Protocol was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte in its ethical and methodological aspects under opinion no. 1,762,797 and CAAE No. 5,596,316,500,00,5537.
