RESUMO:

Introduction: The physical and emotional toll of health care in hospitals, low pay and social prestige are factors associated with the nurses' working conditions that may reflect negatively on the mental health of these professionals and may result in severe diseases such as depression, and health problems, such as suicidal behavior. Objective: To analyze the association between suicidal ideation, depression, job satisfaction and sociodemographic variables and risk factors for suicide in the emergency room nurses and hospital emergency. Method: This is an analytical and cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach. Data will be collected from the general emergency sectors and the emergence of regional IV and VII Units Regional Health of Rio Grande do Norte hospitals. The population is composed of 66 nurses, and participants selected for convenience. For data collection, we have: sociodemographic questionnaire and risk factors for suicide; Suicidal Ideation Scale Beck; Inventory Beck Depression; and Satisfaction Scale Martins Professional. To achieve the proposed objective will be analyzing the data descriptively, with absolute and relative frequencies, measures of central tendency and dispersion; and inferentially, through non-parametric statistical tests, with the help of Microsoft Office Excel® 2016 and software SPSS 20.0. The project will be submitted to the Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. It is based on ethical considerations of Resolution No. 466/2012 of the National Council of Health that regulates research with human beings. The subjects will sign the Informed Consent and Informed.
