RESUMO:

The patient care living with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) or Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS), is of specific considering is a complex / multifaceted care object that requires multiple skills, given the involvement of issues beyond the clinical knowledge and advance to the social and emotional demands. It is a public health problem, with an incidence rate of progression both in Rio Grande do Norte and in the city of Parnamirim. From this reality the nurse must exercise care developing its work process in the various levels of health care. This context promulgates the need for effective performance of such professional publicly quoted. This study aims to analyze the professional nursing work process in the care of people living with HIV / AIDS in the family health strategy in the city of Parnamirim / RN. This is an exploratory, descriptive study of qualitative approach of a case study carried out in the Strategy of Health Parnamirim county family, where they were interviewed nurses working in that service through semi-structured interviews. The project was approved by the comitee of research ethics (CEP) of the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) in the opinion No. 1,442,712 and CAAE: 51842215.1.0000.5537. The analysis will be made by the method of Bardin Content Analysis.
