ADAPTATION LEVEL OF THE OSTOMY PATIENT UNDER THE CALLISTA ROY ADAPTATION MODEL: CONSTRUCTION AND VALIDATION OF INSTRUMENT
Ostomy. Nursing Models. Psychological; adaptation. Validation Studies.
Care models are presented as the first theoretical concepts and denote the most abstract and comprehensive level of nursing knowledge, if possible, from them, direct the professional nursing practice by providing guidelines for planning, implementation and evaluation of care nursing. An example is the Roy Adaptation Model, which comprises the individual as able to adapt system. In this sense, one can establish the relationship between the Roy Adaptation Model and people with ostomy, because of the range of adaptive needs in physical, psychological and social areas that directly affect the quality of life of this population. The discomfort of physical alteration of the digestive tract, decreased self-esteem associated with body image, changes in diet and lifestyle, among other demands, demonstrate the importance of the provision of nursing care in the light of this model. Thus, the objective of this research is to validate the contents of an instrument, structured from the Roy Adaptation Model, which enables the measurement of the adaptation process of people with stoma. This is a methodological study that will be developed in two stages: the first involves the construction of instrument items from the definitions of the constructs, and the second will be based on validation phase by the judges. The variables of this study will be organized into two groups: characterization of judges and presentation of items that will make the proposed instrument. The validation process will be analyzed by applying the Kappa index, to check the level of agreement and judges the level of consistency in relation to the permanence or otherwise of the items that make up the instruments, and the Content Validity Index. After this process, the results are coded and tabulated and presented in tables, charts and graphs with their respective percentage distributions and results of statistical tests.
