RESUMO:

Introduction: to conceptualize aging as an irreversible and dynamic process in which there is interaction between biological, psychological and social factors. The high increase in global elderly population has stimulated the development of research in this area. Objective: In this way, the objective is to analyze the influence of sociodemographic, health care and quality of life of older people linked to the Family Health Strategy (FHS). Method: analytical, cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach, performed in Igapó communities in the district of Natal North, Rio Grande do Norte (RN) and DNER in the municipality of Santa Cruz-RN, Brazil. The period of the study comprised December 2015 to March 2016. The study included elderly linked to the ESF Igapó district in Natal, the neighborhood of DNER and users of clinical interventions of the Faculty of Health Sciences Trairi (FACIS), both in Santa Cruz. Among the elderly, 60 were linked to the health unit Igapó, while another 60 seniors of Santa Cruz, the ESF this municipality. For inclusion in the study, participants had to have aged 60 years; present cognitive ability, as measured by the screening tool Mini Mental Examination (MMSE); be registered in the health unit in your municipality as a client during the collection period. Prior to the completion of data collection, interviewers will undergo a training process approach to selected instruments. Selected instruments for data collection were: the questionnaire of demographic data and characteristics of pain; Mini instrument Mental State Examination (MMSE); Brazilian version of the quality of life questionnaire Short Form-36 (SF-36); the Barthel scale; Lawton Scale; Scale of Geriatric Depression; the overall evaluation of the fragility PRISMA 7. For tabulation and analysis of data, Microsoft Excel 2013 programs were used and the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) 20.0. For nominal and ordinal variables, the nonparametric Pearson's chi-square is applied. To test the scalar variables, the Mann-Whitney U-test is used. The findings showed in tables and charts. This research received prior approval by the Ethics Committee at the Hospital Universitário Onofre Lopes (CEP / HUOL) under Presentation Certificate of Appreciation for number of Ethics 21996313.7.0000.5537.
