PAGES: 78
BIG AREA: Ciências da Saúde
AREA: Fonoaudiologia
SUMMARY:

Introduction: The restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the importance of technology in health education in different ways. The use of computer-based simulations can improve dynamism and use in classes, whether remote or face to face. Objective: To develop and validate virtual tools to mediate Audiology’s teaching. Method: Descriptive prospective study, structured in two manuscripts: (I) Audiometer and virtual immittance meter: online tools for teaching and learning; (II) Virtual patients: impact of computer-based simulation on practical acting in audiology. In the first study, the tools will be evaluated by users, including students, professors, and speech therapists. In the second stage, the tool was evaluated by seven judges, PhD professors with expertise in audiology and in a second stage, it will be evaluated by the target audience, professors, and students of two Speech-Language Pathology courses through an adapted version of the "Self-Assessment Scale of Impact of Training at Work - Measured in Amplitude”. Questionnaires with a Linkert scale will be used, including the positive and negative points of us for all the developed tools. Data will be submitted to qualitative and statistical analysis with appropriate tests depending on adherence. Expected results: So far there are 15 users of the virtual audiometer, with preliminary results indicating that the tool is promising both in the perception of teachers, students and professionals. In the analysis of the algorithm by the judges, inconsistent results were found. It is expected that in the next stages of the study, there will be a positive perception of users, impact on practical performance and identification of improvements to be implemented.
