AIM: to construct an expressive and receptive vocabulary screening tool for children aged from 3- to 7-years-old. METHOD: six judges experienced on language area participated, including four speech language pathologists, one psychopedagogue and one neuropsychologist. The instrument was assessed on it’s theoric rational, materials and screening principles. For the data analysis, the Content Validity Index (CVI) were used to obtain the CVI and the Intraclass Correlation Coeficient with the aim to verify the interrater agreement. PARTIAL RESULTS: the theorical rational, materials and screening principles were classified as excellent, with CVI 0,97, 1 and 0,83, respectively. However, the CVI-I of the item three and item four of materials obtained an unsatisfactory result. The interrater agreement was 0,72, classified as substantial.
