SUMMARY:

Promoting comprehensive care for adolescents represents a challenge for health systems, which has become even worse after the COVID-19 pandemic, as there has been an increase in the rates of psychological distress in this population, with evidence of increased physical inactivity, in the level of of anxiety, stress, depression, among other forms of psychological suffering. In this way, since Primary Care is a gateway to the psychosocial care network, its strengthening becomes fundamental, since it represents the closest space to the user in its territory. Therefore, it is necessary to offer qualification to the Family Health Teams (ESF), health promotion, consolidate the bond with the territory, matrix support by mental health teams and empowerment of the population. Therefore, this study aims to develop a practical guide on mental health promotion and prevention of psychological distress in adolescents within the scope of territorial care in primary health care. This is an exploratory, descriptive scientific research, using a qualitative approach. Being the scenario of the study the municipality of Parnamirim-RN and the universe the Basic Health Units (UBS) linked to the Saúde na Hora Program. In order to meet the needs that this study proposes, some phases are required by the intended researcher in order to systematically structure the progress of the work: Phase 1: the execution of a semi-structured interview, to access the meanings of the participants, with a collection instrument of data to be applied with the FHS professionals of Parnamirim-RN. Phase 2: as a technique for analyzing and presenting the data, the “Content Analysis” proposed by Bardin (2011) was chosen. Phase 3: interpretation and presentation of data. Finally, as a technological product aimed at workers and caregivers of adolescents, a practical guide of strategies for the promotion of mental health and prevention of suffering of adolescents in the scope of territorial care of AB will be elaborated, with the help of the canva platform in the construction of the guide, based on the experiences of ESF health professionals, who can contribute to the comprehensive care of adolescents.
