Conception of xApps for interference management in Open RAN systems using Machine Learning
Open RAN; interference; xApp; O-RAN; ns-3
This work aims to explore the implementation of co-channel interference management techniques in xApps for a multi-cellular scenario with high user and access point density. Initially, the problem of co-channel interference is presented with two possible scenarios that result in high interference, followed by possible solutions. Then, an objective description of the O-RAN architecture is made and a description of how the system will be modeled using the ns-3 and the O-RAN’s near-real time RIC. Preliminary analyses are presented aiming at showing the near-real time RIC architecture and, finally, the execution schedule for the completion of the work is presented.
