SUMMARY:

Modern society, from the evolution of machine learning techniques and artificial intelligence, has evolved into a state in which fewer and fewer human operators are required to perform simple activities such as vacuuming the floor, supermarket boxes, even complex activities, such as driving vehicles which, despite great advances in development, presents difficulties to acquire robustness in unexpected conditions. In the case of intelligent agents, who perform the mencioned activities, they need to master their environment as well as have a control system to perform actions beneficial to them in unknown environments so that it approaches the features of intelligent organisms: robust, with the ability to predict, learn and adapt to the circumstances in which it is inserted. The computer vision allows the visualization of space by the agent and, with reinforcement learning algorithms, modify their actions based on a control system when interacting with an environment, in order to avoid obstacles and collisions or accidents. In this work, the computational vision was combined with the reinforcement learning approach to make a controller take intelligent decisions of a robot -didatic platform FESTO Robotino V2-, which will allow this agent to acquire the necessary intellect to follow the random trajectory of a target vehicle at a delimited distance and to compensate obstacles and varied traffic conditions in this route, in a robust, optimized and safe way, ensuring applicability for the current autonomous cars.
