RESUMO:

The goal of this work is to develop a system that consists of a microstrip antenna array, a computational modeling to process data and I.A. to assist in the diagnosis of osteopathic diseases. The implementations are being made by using an array of microstrip antennas with the Yagi Uda setup, operating on the optimal frequency of 2,44Ghz, integrated with a system of reading electromagnetic wave propagation in biological material and data collecting for further bone density rating, made by a neural network. The system will have the following features: non-invasive system, since it operates on the frequency band allowed for medical applications, portable, easy to operate and it can be used for initial medical examinations of low cost and wide range of applications in health facilities that are remote from major centers. The initial results of the experiments show the viability of the said system, with the correct rating in regards to bone density in 100% of the tested samples.
