SUMMARY:

This research focuses its investigation on athletics and more specifically street running as a content to be thematized at school in light of the precepts of the theory of developmental teaching by the Russian theorist Vasilli V. Davydov (1930-1998). It is noteworthy that this theory is based on the historical-cultural theory of Lev Vygotski (1896 – 1934) and the activity theory of Alexei Leontiev (1903-1979) and that it emerges as a theoretical methodological possibility for the development of theoretical thinking and the apprehension of concepts related to athletics, enabling students to develop them through the appropriation, formation and generalization of concepts based on mental actions. Therefore, the problem of this research is how to develop a pedagogical action approaching street racing from the perspective of developmental teaching that is articulated with the school community? The study aims to develop and describe the didactic approach to athletics and specifically street running, analyze the results obtained from the didactic experiment developed, list the limits and possibilities for the development of the proposed pedagogical action in light of the precepts of Davidov's developmental teaching and, from there, develop an educational product that proposes guidelines for the collective construction of a street racing event at school. The methodology of the present study is characterized by a qualitative approach, descriptive in nature and the research method is classified as a didactic-training experiment guiding pedagogical practices. The research participants consisted of 38 students enrolled in the elective athletics discipline, offered at EEMTI Antônio Luiz Coelho for 1st and 2nd year high school students aged between 15 and 18 years old. The didactic experiment was carried out during 11 meetings, that is, 22 classes during the Athletics elective course. The data obtained from observation and recording of classes in the field diary, photographs of pedagogical moments and student productions, questionnaires answered at the end of the course and transcriptions of the speeches of students participating in the focus group were analyzed and interpreted using To establish the categories, the methodological guidelines of Bardin (2015) were used. After applying the experiment, an educational product was created in the form of a booklet containing didactic-methodological guidelines in the light of developmental teaching for the collective construction of a street racing event at school with the students and the school community as actors and authors of the action.
