BODY AWARENESS GYMNASTICS: a proposal for elementary school

Activities related to Body Awareness Gymnastics are still little discussed and explored in school Physical Education, although they can enable the development of self-knowledge and a critical reflection on the part of the students about the current social model that, many times, stimulates the speed of information, perfection of actions, agile productivity, indifference and rivalry. Therefore, the objective of this research project is to implement a pedagogical proposal centered on Body Awareness Gymnastics, based on the skills and competences indicated in the Documento Curricular Referencial do Ceará (DCRC), describing weaknesses and potentialities found throughout the process. This research will be of an applied nature with a qualitative approach, based on a descriptive-exploratory experience report over a semester in a public school in the city of Fortaleza/CE. As project participants, we have 31 students between twelve and fourteen years old regularly enrolled in two 9th grade classes. The instruments for data collection in field research are the teacher-researcher's field diary and a set of portfolios produced by the students. Data analysis will take place in the following steps: pre-analysis, material exploration, treatment of results, inference and interpretation of the information collected.
