RESUMO:

High School, characterized by the stage of academic life that prepares young people for entry into the job market, as well as for higher education, has been, over the years, a focus of Brazilian education that has been the subject of discussion regarding its results, mainly as regards external assessments. Given the focus on the creation of BNCC and the “new” High School, as another attempt to reformulate this stage of education, we defined as urgent to problematize these changes on the school floor, making use of one of its curricular components, the Physical Education. Because the history of this discipline has served the diverse interests of the ruling classes and because of much misinformation, it has been stigmatized as a poorly valued area, largely due to pedagogical practices that did not justify it as a curriculum component, that is a mere activity in the student curriculum. With this scope presented and in view of the focus of the creation of the BNCC and the “new” High School, which brings significant changes to the curricular components, including Physical Education as a formative itinerary of the language area, a pedagogical practice is necessary help unveil with students the true role of Physical Education in school, which is to critically discuss the body practices of movement culture. The aim of this research is to discuss a pedagogical practice of Physical Education in High School, seeking a dialogue with the curricular aspects. Common National Curriculum Base (BNCC) and the new legislation. In view of the reality presented, this paper proposes a pedagogical intervention based on action research, with a qualitative approach, with themes considered important for the discipline in high school, in order to assess the importance that students face in their daily lives. Using a field diary and interview as methodological procedures, we obtained preliminary results that demonstrate that the student values the discipline if it is well articulated with an innovative pedagogical practice, thus it can be stated that Physical Education needs to be problematized to take its place in time and space in Brazilian education.
