PHYSICAL EDUCATION IN FUNDAMENTAL EDUCATION: the distance from classes in the students' perception

The participation of students in the body practices provided for Physical Education classes is significantly 

reduced throughout Basic Education. The aim of this study is to identify the students' perception regarding 

the factors that contribute to the departure from the body practices experienced in Physical Education classes, 

seeking suggestions with the students so that these factors can be remedied. The study will be conducted 

using the qualitative methodology, through action research, in a school of the Rio Grande do Norte State 

Education Network, having as population students regularly enrolled in Elementary School, in the 9th grade A, 

morning shift of the School State Dr. Silvio Bezerra de Melo, in Currais Novos. 

The instruments used to collect the experiences will be: questionnaire, interview, field diary and observation, 

being the reported experiences analyzed through thematic analysis. The research, registered at Plataforma Brasil 

under No. 15865919.0.0000.5537, was approved by the Ethics Committee with approval report No. 3,474,756 

dated July 29, 2019.
