SUMMARY:

Introduction: The diagnosis of Chronic Kidney Disease has increased significantly over the years, accompanied by a growing need for hemodialysis for a large proportion of these individuals. This reality leads to a series of changes in the routines of these patients and those who support their care. Objective: To understand the Collective Subject Discourse of people with Chronic Kidney Disease and their caregivers regarding their experiences in the therapeutic routine of hemodialysis. Method: This is a descriptive, exploratory study with a qualitative approach, developed at the Santa Rita Nephrology Center in Santa Cruz/RN, from May to June 2025. The sample consisted of seven patients diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease undergoing hemodialysis treatment and nine caregivers who participate in this therapeutic journey. The instrument adopted for data collection consisted of a recorded semi-structured interview, comprising identification data and open-ended questions related to their experiences during dialysis, conducted at the respective nephrology center, and concluded considering the theoretical saturation of content. The speeches were transcribed into Microsoft Word and analyzed according to the Collective Subject Discourse framework. The results were discussed in light of the scientific literature related to the topic, from the perspective of the adopted framework. Preliminary results: The study results showed that the therapeutic itinerary used in hemodialysis is reflected in various dimensions of the lives of most of the two groups, such as in carrying out their domestic activities, at work, and in routine needs such as traveling. Furthermore, it allowed us to understand the positive aspects of this experience, as well as the desires for actions they wish to perform during the dialysis session as a way to improve time management. Final considerations: Therefore, strategies that improve this experience of the therapeutic routine, such as games, workshops, and training sessions, are fundamental.
