Repositório Institucional da UFRN e Sistema Integrado de Gestão de Atividades Acadêmicas (SIGAA): proposta de interoperabilidade
Interoperability. Institutional Repository. Academic Management Systems. Metadata.
This work aims to produce knowledge and applicability features regarding interventions that promote interoperability amongst systems such as the Institutional Repository at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) and the local System for Academic activities, the SIGAA. In this perspective, the research question emerges considering the observed duplicity of scientific production stored in both systems. Thus, the study proposes an intervention through the elaboration of an interoperability model. The research aims to establish strategies to promote the interoperability amongst these systems in order to achieve scientific production visibility regarding UFRN researchers, either nationally and internationally. The study is guided by the hypothesis that it is possible to make systems interoperable. The methodology used was Action Research. In this context, system managers were interviewed, a questionnaire was applied with the professors and participant observation was realized. The research sample will consider twenty subjects. Systematic data collection will be realized in 2017. It will consider managers, professors and well as researchers at UFRN. Partial results point out that of the types of documents stored in the SIGAA, only dissertations and thesis have prerequisites that contribute to interoperability.
