SUMMARY:

This research focused on the relation between the field classes and the teaching of Geography, starting from the understanding that the field classes is a methodology of effective teaching and learning to connect theory and practice through contact directly with various geographic phenomena. Besides increasing involvement and interaction of students in concrete situations, when carried out in a local context, influences the development of a sense of identity, belonging and appreciation of the territory. Therefore, it is proposed to develop a pedagogical teaching guide for field classes from the perspective of Geographic Education, including a proposal for the 1st year of high school, contemplating the relationship between man and the relief in the city of Joao Pessoa-PB. Based on this, the central question “to what extent does the pedagogical didactic guide for the field become effective as an efficient didactic resource for approaching objects of learning the school Geography from the perspective of Geographic Education?” Also the following objective was established “to build a didactic-pedagogical guide for fieldwork classes with theoretical and methodological guidelines as an efficient teaching resource to approach the learning goals from the school Geography in the perspective of Geographic Education.”The research methodology was based on two stages: 1. Construction of the theoretical foundation, through bibliographic review and documentation research and 2. preparation and application of the teaching guide for field classes. The theoretical discussion was based on authors such as Braun (2005), Correa Filho (2015), Cordeiro and Oliveira (2011 and 2014), Hissa and Oliveira (2004), Neves (2015), Oliveira (2019) and Silva and Campos ( 2015), with the aim of understanding the relation between Geography teaching and field classes, as well as conceptualizing this methodology and its constitutive stages. The Base Nacional Comum Curricular (BNCC) and the Paraiba High School Curricular Proposal (PCEMPB) were also analyzed, seeking to understand how this methodology fits into the context of the discussions highlighted in these reference documents for curricular and pedagogical development. With this perspective, a pedagogical didactic guide was created to guide teachers in the development of relevant and engaging field classes in the context of basic education. As an educational product, the guide aims to strengthen pedagogical practices and contribute to improving educational results within the scope of School Geography, offering tools, instruments and clear guidance on how to conduct field classes.
