Study of Methodology for Implementation of BPM Practices in a Private Institution
BPM. business process. Methodology.
Business Process Management (BPM), a multidisciplinary discipline that aggregates management knowledge and information technology, is an important tool for improving the performance of organizations. Through the application of management knowledge, BPM practices assist in identifying, improving and managing the compliance and performance of business processes. With the support of information technology it is possible to use techniques such as simulation of processes for performance analysis and configuration of information systems to support identified processes. Despite the relevance of the discipline, applying BPM is not a trivial task, and most of the initiatives fail. Appropriate methods and techniques are needed to support the introduction of discipline in organizations. The research carried out here addresses the situation of a private company operating in the service sector of the Potiguar economy, where the lack of appropriate methods has made it difficult to adopt BPM practices. To solve the problem, a literary review was performed where methods, techniques and tools for BPM application were identified and analyzed. Subsequently, a method appropriate to the reality of the business was selected and will be detailed for application. It is hoped to achieve with the application of the practice identified in the study the improvement of the business processes and as a consequence the improvement of the performance of the organization.
