SUMMARY:

This study investigates how collaborative writing can help overcome the difficulties of teamwork and the lack of interest in textual production among 8th-grade students at Escola Estadual Professora Ocila Bezerril, in Montanhas-RN, Brazil. It is observed that traditional methods of teaching writing rarely promote collaboration and often result in low-quality and unoriginal texts. The general objective is to investigate the impacts of a collaborative writing proposal, developed through the production of digital comics based on local legends, on the teaching and learning process of writing in the 8th grade of Elementary School. The objectives are to diagnose the level of student engagement and collaboration before the intervention; to develop pedagogical workshops that integrate local culture, writing, and digital technologies; to observe and record the interactions and progress of students during the stages of collaborative production; to analyze the results obtained in the textual productions and in the students’ perceptions; and to produce a pedagogical guide as an educational product that can serve as a model for other teachers to use and adapt according to the needs of their classes. The theoretical framework is based on Felipeto (2019), Pinheiro (2011; 2013), Storch (2005), and Torres, Alcântara, and Irala (2004), who highlight the relevance of collaborative writing; on Câmara Cascudo (2001) and Portelli (2016), who emphasize the value of orality and local culture; and on Ribeiro (2012) and Moran (2013), who analyze the role of digital technologies in contemporary education. The research is qualitative, interventionist, and follows the action-research approach (Thiollent, 1986). It will be carried out through pedagogical workshops whose data will make it possible to assess how the production of digital comics fosters writing, engagement, and cooperation among students. The final product will be a pedagogical guide designed as a reference for collaborative writing practices mediated by local culture and digital technologies in different educational contexts.
