SUMMARY:

5G network operators are constantly seeking new service models to stand out in the market and increase profitability. One of the main innovations explored is Network Slicing, which allows the creation of customized network slices according to different performance requirements. Operation, Administration and Management Support Systems (OAMSS) are essential in the 5G scenario, as they assist in network maintenance and slice provisioning. Recently, the concept of Telco-Cloud Slicing (TCS) was introduced, which expands slicing to include cloud resources, transport networks and RAN, offering new opportunities for operators and telco-cloud providers. However, there is still no OAMSS system that is proven to be compatible with TCS, which limits the evolution of telco-cloud infrastructures and the delivery of innovative 5G-based applications. The research proposes MAESTRO, an innovative OAMSS system aimed at deploying TCSs in telco-cloud infrastructures, covering from the core to the extreme edge of the network. MAESTRO stands out for integrating a marketplace into the backend, promoting the concept of Everything-as-a-Slice-Service (EaaSS), allowing operators to offer resources and applications as a service, in a monetizable way. It also includes an intuitive frontend and a graphical interface that allows the automatic creation of TCSs, generating templates and activating the technologies necessary for their lifecycle. The system will be evaluated in real and simulated environments, with the aim of validating its viability and its potential to transform the use of slicing in 5G mobile networks,
driving innovative approaches such as TCS and EaaSS.
