SUMMARY:

This dissertation investigates the (techno)discursive functioning of the digital literary event #ExplodaSeuKindle (#ESK), focusing on its first edition in 2023. The event's objective is to promote the circulation of national books, particularly those self-published on social networks. The study is anchored in Digital Discourse Analysis (DDA), proposed by Paveau (2021), and is primarily supported by Maingueneau (1987, 2001, 2015) regarding discursive (literary) fields. Indirect documentation was used to organize a data dispersion from the event's first year on the X, TikTok, and YouTube networks, along with the catalog of participating books on Amazon and the reading registration app, Maratona.app. As results, the event was situated as part of a margin of literary discourse, enabled by the technological revolution (Thompson, 2023; Santaella, 2021) and self-publishing (Lima, 2023; Moreira and Magalhães, 2023) within a regime of dependency. Subsequently, lists, advertisements, and less prototypical posts were identified as the predominant technogenres on the day of the event, promoting circulation across different networks and diffusing the proposal. Following this, the distribution of preferred genres such as novels and short stories, followed by a thematic approach (Maingueneau, 2001; Gelder, 2004), was established. Furthermore, the analysis of Amazon ads demonstrated techniques such as narrative decomposition (tropes and tags) and (inter)discursive networks, which operate, respectively, on the fragmentation/exposure of productions (Han, 2017) and the reader-producer correlation (Jenkins, 2015). Finally, as outcomes of the event, forms of reader subjectivity (Orlandi, 2004) were analyzed, emphasizing reader responsibility and a supportive stance to circulate "independent" national literature, challenging algorithmic performance in boosting publications. In summary, the dissertation demonstrates that #ESK has survived digital ephemerality by utilizing different technological and linguistic possibilities across various social networks, encouraging the reading of works by historically marginalized authors and establishing itself as a form of literary agency in the digital sphere.
