SUMMARY:

This research aimed to analyze the experiences of female delivery workers subordinated to digital
platforms in Natal/RN and its metropolitan region. Guided by Historical-Cultural Psychology and
Social Reproduction Theory, this study sought to examine the dramatic events present in their
working conditions and in the interpersonal relationships within their experiences. In this context,
through ethnographic inspiration and observant participation, the research accompanied women in
the actions, events, and mobilizations of the Associação dos Trabalhadores por Aplicativos de Moto e
Bike (ATAMB/RN) and their WhatsApp group "EntregadorAs – Natal," with records kept in a field
diary. Data analysis was conducted using the Scheme for the Analysis of Collective Aspects of
Experience, developed during this dissertation. Based on this scheme, the results were divided into
four dramatic axes: a) working conditions; b) relationship with male delivery workers; c) relationship
with customers; and d) the WhatsApp group "EntregadorAs – Natal." In the working conditions axis,
it became evident that the lack of restrooms, the worsening of menstrual symptoms due to
motorcycle activity, and the choice of clothing (jeans vs. leggings) constitute conflictive situations
that expose the gendered precarity of platform work and the oppression based on gender and race. In
the relationship with male delivery workers, sexuality proved to be determinant: while lesbian female
delivery workers are addressed in the masculine grammatical form and enjoy an ambivalent
'protection' at the cost of being displaced into an Other category, heterosexual women face constant
harassment and adopt strategies such as de-feminization and distancing, also suffering attacks from
the partners of male delivery workers, who blame them for potential betrayals. In the relationship
with customers, they are subjected to sexual and discriminatory harassment, with complaints
ignored by the platform. Finally, the WhatsApp group "EntregadorAs - Natal" emerges as a space of
collective resistance, where women share various strategies, rebuilding bonds of solidarity and
belonging.
